Manufacturing Continues Growth To Start 2021
Economic activity in the manufacturing sector grew in January according to the latest Manufacturing ISM Report On Business. This was the 8th consecutive month of growth (PRN Newswire)
The January Manufacturing PMI® registered 58.7 percent, down 1.8 percentage points from the seasonally adjusted December reading of 60.5 percent. This figure indicates expansion in the overall economy for the eighth month in a row after contraction in March, April, and May.

The seasonally adjusted IHS Markit final U.S. Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index™ (PMI™) posted 59.2 in January, up from 57.1 in December and broadly in line with the earlier released ‘flash’ figure of 59.1. The latest data signalled a substantial improvement in operating conditions among manufacturers, and the most marked since data collection began in May 2007.
